Practicing Physician

After navigating the road less traveled (J1 extension, temporary return to Canada, J1 waiver, H1b visa) without much guidance, which is a reason for starting this blog, I became the first Forensic Pathologist on an H1b visa at an office in the Midwest. It was exciting, as an immigrant and a foreign medical graduate to feel you’ve “beaten the odds”. The exhilaration was soon met with the realization that the office was not a good place for me (visa abuse). After many trials and tribulations, I was able to obtain an H1b transfer (not an easy process) to another office.

I am currently at an office in the Northeast as a practicing physician on an H1b visa. My plan is to stay in the United States and become a dual citizen. I am excited to say I am recently engaged to a wonderful man, who has been with me through the last five years of this process. Stay tuned!
