B1 Visitor Visa

The B1 visitor visa is the visa that is most widely used for completion of clinical clerkships in the United States. This visitor visa is usually issued at 6 month and 1-year increments depending on if you receive it at the airport or at the ground border and your situation. You do have the ability to extend your stay. From this visa, I transitioned to a J1 visa for my residency and fellowship training.
